I recently wrote a post for the conference blog Un/Commoning Anthropology about my new research project on the internationalization of the care crisis. This post focuses on the following question: Is health actually a common good?

The aim of the Boasblogs is to make scientific findings accessible to a wider audience to critically and constructively contribute to current social debates and to help shape social relations at various political, social, and everyday levels. The article “Whose Health? Recruiting Vietnamese Nursing Trainees into a German Healthcare Sector in Crisis” addresses the dilemma of care labor migration, which is managed by an administration that is itself suffering from a shortage of skilled workers.
